About Me
I am a non – traditional student who decided to obtain a college degree sixteen years after graduating high school. I began at my local community college mainly because the price was much better than a University’s. I am thankful for my community college experience because I feel it prepared me for the next step of my education.
My two major areas of study at Rowan University are Elementary Education and Writing Arts. I chose Elementary Education because I simply enjoy working with children. I feel I have as much to learn from them as they do from me. We are life learners and you can always pull a learning experience out of a situation. My other major was chosen because I felt it was the main area that would help me be a better teacher.
When I am not at Rowan completing my studies you will find me at home spending time with my family. I am married to my high school sweetheart, we have been together for almost 23 years and married for 15. I have three beautiful children all of whom are boys (thank goodness) that I adore. I love to do family activities. One of my favorite things to do as a family is camping. It is a perfect vacation for three boys.
Other than my family and school I also work at a restaurant, but only from April until October. I live in Cape May which is a seasonal town so I am fortunate not to have to work during most of my school year. I have not lived in a shore town all of my life I lived in Philadelphia until I was 23, but realized I did not want to raise my children there. I moved to this area 15 years ago and have not regretted it once.
